High-quality NiMH cells with low self-discharge

As a radio amateur and radio-controlled model builder, I have over 50 years of experience with batteries. I have over 200 batteries, not to mention dozens of chargers. I have the ability to test and recharge virtually any battery chemistry. With that in mind, I ran these new ACdelco batteries through my regular dyno that I use to test all new batteries. They passed all tests with flying colors, I've measured their capacity up to the nominal 2000 mAh or the more appropriate 2 amp hours. They were charged, but not 100%, but more like 60%, which can of course be due to self-discharge, depending on how long they were in storage. Early nickel hydride technology suffered from extremely high self-discharge rates of around 10% per month. This means that a fully charged battery is already half empty after about 5 months of inactivity on the shelf or in your device due to self-discharging. These ACdelco NiMH rechargeable batteries feature low self-discharge technology, which means they last significantly longer on the shelf. . It would take about 10 months to do an accurate self-discharge test, but I was able to estimate a self-discharge rate of about 2% to 4% per month, which is significantly better than what you'd get with standard NiMH batteries from Port Cargo and tools . If you are new to battery technology, be aware that NiMH or NiMH batteries are not ideal replacements for alkaline batteries because NiMH and NiCad batteries are rated at 1.2 volts versus 1.5 volts for alkaline batteries. This can cause problems with some devices. especially those that put a heavy load on the cells, as the nominal voltage can drop below 1.1V, which is pretty much considered fully discharged for an alkaline cell. no problem recommending them

Pros
  • Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries contain no cadmium or mercury
Cons
  • Long delivery time
