After 250,000 miles on our 2002 CRV this part failed and put the car in "idle" mode where the engine would not rev over 3000 rpm. Replacing the part took less than 20 minutes. Helpful Hint: Inside this thing is a filter screen that was completely clogged. My guess is that the heat build up from oil not flowing properly destroyed the seals. If you take the piece off, there's a bowl of sorts right underneath. This small bowl was filled with what I believe was an ancient seal. Use a paper towel or something similar to thoroughly clean the strainer bowl, which will clog up again in minutes. Had to shoot mine back after it got clogged again. Save yourself the hassle and clean that pool before installing the new part.
