This is a fantastic prime lens and is widely recognized as the best value everyday lens for Sony's A6000 series cameras. I first bought the 30mm version of this lens but received a poor copy. so it took me many years to succumb to the overwhelming reviews and buy this for my a6300. That's great. I shot A LOT of 16mm interior shots with the kit lens, so it made a lot of sense to get a fast 16mm prime lens (24mm equivalent). Just set your minimum shutter speed to 100 seconds and don't worry about no OSS if you don't have IBS. Focusing is fast, feels good in the hand, nice bokeh and of course very sharp. If, like me, you bought a 50mm lens as your first APS-C prime out of habit (and value) and found the 75mm equivalent too long for everyday shots, then this is the lens for you. With such a focal length, close-ups will be distorted. like wide-angle, but step back a few steps and the ambient portraits will turn normal heads. I've spent so much time capturing two people with my 50mm lens that it's relaxing when I have so much more field of view to work with. Use Eye AF for portraits. When photographing multiple faces, I open it up to f/1.7-2.8 as needed to keep everyone in focus. On my a7-II it's a 16mm 24MP lens with a vignette (you'll need to remove the lens hood to reduce this) or a 10MP lens. 24mm in APS-C mode (which is almost indistinguishable from shots taken with the a6300's 24MP camera). All in all, this lens lives up to its reputation as an unbeatable everyday lens.
