I have purchased both versions of the arc lighter available on this list. At first I just bought an arc lighter. It has no external buttons. It's good to know that you don't accidentally turn it on while it's closed and in your pocket or purse. I also bought a flashlight along with an arc lighter. The main reason I bought this one is that I think the arc lighter design is better. The probes on this one face outwards and could easily be shoved into something to set it on fire. My main issue with this is that I want to put this thing in my pocket or bag with other items and not have something accidentally turn on the flashlight and drain the battery. The lighter only activates when the cover is removed, but while it's closed the flashlight turns on. I used to accidentally run out of flashlight batteries because it turned on in my pocket. That's my only concern with this device. Otherwise it's still good for the price.
