I follow very carefully every time I find projects as important as this, SV Angel for me I include it in the list of so-called incubators, they take projects that are of interest, finance them and guide them to be successful, it is an initiative that have followed several and usually all successful.
In the case of SV Angel as indicated in the title of the review, it is overwhelming the number of projects in the area of information technology that have received some support and guidance from SV Angel, but it is not by the quantity, it is by the quality and reputation of these, to name a few are: Google, Twitter, Paypal, Pinterest, Facebook, Square, Dropbox,
Coinbase, Github, Airbnb and because of the closeness between its founder Conway and Bill Gates even Microsoft is counted among them, the list is really overwhelming.
How do they operate? Generally they take projects without starting or in early stage with which they will make investments in scalable financing, that is to say they will inject capital as required and according to its evolution, the help is financial and with specialized advisors that will guide you in your venture, the projects must be of the computer area preferably software, they are very rigorous in the selection of candidates and although the acceptance rate is quite low, this is higher than other companies of similar cut, they operate with preference in Silicon Valley but they accept developments only in the United States.
Where does the funding come from? Initially they operated with external funds, but they decided to stop accepting external investors and all the capital to be invested is their own.
If you live in the United States and you have an IT project in its initial development phase, you can knock on this door because if you are accepted you will be successful and they will provide you with the necessary help. I say this on a personal basis since I work in the IT area and I have a process in development for more than a year and a half, without having had significant progress for reasons mainly of financing, however recently I have a partnership with another similar project and we are in the process of unifying. However I will try to get my project to this company in the United States and see if it is taken into consideration, as they say nothing is lost by knocking on the door.
