Just bought 5 more of these holders. We use them to hold our DMT bricks (Dia-Sharp 8x3). Please note that we do not attempt to use one holder for all of our stones, therefore placing stones in one holder is a one time offering. We use 50/50 pure green concentrate with water as the cutting fluid and have no rust problems. However, stainless steel rods and nuts would be a great addition and only slightly more expensive. The holder comes without instructions and has some features that need to be documented. Dual metal skids and three separate blocks are not inherently stable. We use a large granite slab for the grinder which is fairly flat, not a flat surface but rather flat. Insert the stones into the holder ON THE GRANITE SURFACE, then tighten slightly with a little pressure. This is the only way the holder will lie flat on the surface. You don't need to tighten the nuts, just tighten them. The central part is there, at first it seems that it touches the bench. With all our holders you can see the light between the stone and the central support. If the central support touches the stone in any way, the stone can swing using the central support as a fulcrum. We don't use a grinding method that would bend almost any stone, let alone DMT stones. It is a fact that black stroller bumpers appear randomly on the ends of the threaded rods and may or may not come with the unit, in my experience you get at least one. If that bothers you, use a plunge tool. In any case, they fall off almost immediately. I don't know if anyone can make a better stone holder, this works for us.
