Because of the nice "More" price I decided to try these instead of my usual purchase of loose charcoal which I then use with carrier stuff. Pockets for the media rack (InTank) in my BioCube. I have read on a website that AquaClear/Fluval activated carbon is among the best on the market and for now I have to say that I agree with those statements. My water is cleaner than ever thanks to the loose charcoals I bought. Obviously, these pre-packaged items are more convenient than stuffing your own bags, and the price can't be higher as long as it's an optional extra. If you have a smaller system, you can add one of these packages. I highly recommend this brand of carbon. After seeing how perfectly crystal clear the water in my tank is (I wasn't aware of how NOT crystal clear it was until I used this charcoal) I will continue to exclusively use this brand. **Note: activated charcoal only clears the water and removes the fishy odor from the aquarium; It's a polisher, not a cleaner. Only a water change cleans the aquarium.
