Review on Cuisinart ViewPro Glass 2 Slice Toaster, Black - CPT-3000 by Hugh Starr

The Crumb in Art 3000

This toaster was designed to: 1. Look expensive and stylish. 2. Catch crumbs near the windscreen. Looks cool, especially when toasting at night.2. The top of the unit has a wraparound chute that, perhaps unintentionally, catches crumbs and allows them to fall off and get stuck behind the front glass. See photos. The glass is removed for cleaning, which is not very comfortable.3. For a 2-disc container, that thing is pretty big. It doesn't take long slices of bread, but I sometimes insert them at a 45-degree angle for partial coverage. The slots are optimized for roguelikes. The 3-year warranty is better than most, but the build quality is unremarkable. Toast evenness is uneven, but acceptable. I don't think touchscreen controls are any better than traditional rotary controls. I like the traditional side lever. Quartz heater tubes set this product apart from others in its price range. Since they don't offer shorter times or better consistency [as advertised], it's not clear what benefits they offer. Best energy efficiency? Even though a leading consumer test magazine gave it full marks, I consider it an average lightweight builder, but the warranty and style are above average.
