So far I am very happy with this glue gun. I used it to repair a sisal wrapped cat scratching post. The rod has 1/4" rope and if I work this size again I will try a smaller lure. Next you will need to attach the rug to the climbing frame. I'm sticking with the big tip for this project. I like the trigger on this gun, there is no hand fatigue. It was so cool to be able to put the gun down and let it stand by itself. Best of all, NO DRIPPING! I had him sit for five or six minutes at a time, pulled the rope and it was dripping nothing.(I used the lrg nozzle and the glue sticks that came with it.) Will update if the lack of drips changes with another nozzle and/or glue sticks.
