I actually use it as a shoulder pad in my camera bag and it works great. I had to change it every 2 years.
Believe it or not, I use it as a shoulder strap in my camera bag and it works great. I've had to change it every 2 years or so but given the low price I think it's normal mileage. It stayed quite springy for about a year and then just softened and started acting as a buffer. One tip: be careful with Velcro if you're wearing a trendy shirt that's easy to "take off" if they touch.
