I purchased this frequency converter to connect my mill in Bridgeport to a single phase 220v home power line. Basically, the device works as it should. It's like turning your 3-phase AC motor into a DC motor, with all the variability and control but with no loss of torque. I was able to keep the start and stop time at five seconds to hopefully reduce some wear and tear on the machine. Basically it gives a nice smooth start and stop instead of a quick hard bump. It has settings and options for just about everything you can think of, and some things you don't even know what they're for. This is perhaps my only complaint. It comes with a large manual that lists all the options but doesn't fully explain everything. It would be nice if they included a quick setup guide along with full detailed instructions. Still, I'm happy with the unit and will probably buy a second one for my vertical bandsaw rebuild and a third for my lathe.
