Review on Optimized ๐Ÿšฒ Schwinn Bike Chain by Gabe Smith

Manufacturer openly lies about connecting chain

This review is directed to the manufacturer (Pacific Cycle) and not the seller as the incorrect description is written directly on the packaging. The box shows the steps to assemble the chain and shows a picture of a regular pin almost fully extended, labeled the "Master Link". This isn't the main link, and screwing this pin in with a chain tool creates what techs call a 'hard link'. If you follow the steps on the box and you break the chain, derailleur or suspension, good luck filing a warranty claim. Pacific Cycles will likely report user error on installation and blow your mind. If you buy this chain, be sure to buy the master link from another seller. However, they cost about $10. So for the price you'd better buy a KMC, YBN, Shimano or Sram chain. The seller also claims that it is suitable for 6-7 speed gearboxes, but the box says 5 speed and up to 18 speed (aka 3x6). I'm sure it will work fine with 7x, but the seller shouldn't contradict the manufacturer's claims.
