They are designed to vacuum up the oil in your pool or spa to prevent limescale build up. They yellow when dirty and can be washed and reused several times. Not this one. They do not do anything! They will yellow naturally when exposed to air, so they are shipped in vacuum sealed bags. I have 10 left over from last summer and they are all yellow but have never been exposed to water. If you leave a couple in the pool for a week or two and then squeeze them out there is no oil. If they actually pick up the oil, it should come out. They also won't discolour with washing, even with a degreaser like Simple Green. They do nothing and are a complete rip off!
