Hard heavy plastic like Original BMW parts
The original oil filter cap had an invisible hairline crack around the plastic hex nut which was clearly a leak. Of several equivalent replacement parts, this one didn't have the "shiny" appearance of lightweight plastic. Arrived and looks like this - good heavy ABS plastic, same as original. The only downside was that the plastic threads inside were *very* tight and crossed the threads very easily. After several cross threading attempts, I cleaned the threads with a wire brush and oiled them vigorously - it helped. highlighted.
