Check the thread of the nut and the bolt before assembly!

I tried to install these hood struts yesterday but I had to stop. I was able to install one side, but when I tried to install the ball stud, the nut and bolt threads were different. I tried to turn away, thinking I hadn't threaded the bolt well, but when I tried to thread the bolt into the nut (which is on the end of the metal feeler gauge holding the nut) I still had the same thing Problem. So I canceled the installation. I took the nut out of the feeler gauge and tried threading the nut into the bolt (shown in the picture) and that's as far as it can go. So lesson learned: Before you begin the installation, check the bolt and nut to make sure the threads are correct. I'm only giving it three stars because of this problem. By the way, I sent a review to the seller, but he did not answer! I called Revain and they sent me a replacement and I just had to get what I needed and come back with the bad part.
