Turned out to be scrap. Worked a little over 2 months and stopped working. Only blinks AM 12:00 no matter what I do. I've changed the battery twice so I know that's not the case and these things don't come cheap. None of the buttons work. I liked the product at first, but of course it quickly flies out the window when something you paid close to $60 for just stops working and you blink stupidly. Also, it can't be returned because this window is already closed and it's also pointless to fix these things these days. The instructions state that when the AM 12:00 message lights up, you should "consult your nearest Sony dealer". Yes, that's right, I live in Northwest Montana. Do you know how many Sony dealers are here? Update: Called Sony customer service and after the usual nonsense - take out the battery, unplug the device, wait 1 minute, put the battery back in, plug in the device, nothing happens - Sony sends a replacement. Of course I have to send my device back to Sony and if it wasn't around €60 I'd fucking say it. However, I will try and see how frustrating and painful the process will be. When I get a new block I will update this review. Customer service was good but as is often the case these days you are not speaking to a native English speaker which can be a little frustrating. Nothing against the person - it just lengthens the process. Update (August 2016): Sony customer service didn't appear to be able to replace this unit, so I received a check for a full refund. It took a little while, but not too long. Overall, I have to say that Sony's customer service handled this issue well. I did NOT have to call Sony repeatedly to get this issue resolved and Sony did exactly what they promised. Although it is always uncomfortable to return a product, I think this situation has been satisfactorily resolved.
