Carrots will stain the inside of the unit A LOT on first use. 🥕🥕🥕 I tried soap and water first but it didn't work, but thanks to the internet I rubbed the discolored plastic with vegetable oil and paper towel and the color faded. 🙌🏼The package was delivered as is and without the usual Revain box. The Kitchenaid box only had a shipping label - something to keep in mind if you plan on buying it as a gift. The built-in part is made of thick plastic, but be careful when squeezing hard vegetables. It would be nice if they made the entire device, including the main body, entirely out of stainless steel - it would be more durable and wouldn't get dirty with veggies. I also appreciate the quick release handle for the attachment as a safe feature when removing the blades. Last tip: always check the prices! When I ordered it it was $49.99 and after I placed the order the price dropped to $39.99.
