We looked at several alternatives to the real Christmas tree and finally settled on this tree for this holiday season. Ordering a product coming from outside the United States. Not necessarily for quality reasons, but because of the logistics and uncertainty of interacting with a party who may not have a satisfactory remedy due to non-compliance with US law. We threw caution to the wind and are very glad we did. DELIVERY: We ordered on 11/09/2015. A few hours later we received an email from a manufacturer in Slovenia. They politely asked for our phone number to provide shipping information. I had serious doubts about the claim that it would be at my home in California in 5-7 days, so we booked well in advance of the holiday season. Of course he arrived 5 days after leaving Central Europe - no less than Saturday! I was shocked to say the least. Revain estimated the item arrived in 6 weeks. UNPACKING/ASSEMBLY: It came in a long thin box, packaged fairly well and every detail was taken care of. In fact, my 8-year-old daughter put everything together herself under my guidance. There were few instructions, like IKEA, but there were enough of them. Confirmed by the fact that my young man figured out a lot on his own. QUALITY / OPINIONS: We are very happy with the simple elegance that wood embodies. I would say some parts are a bit delicate. Not fragile but worth a look if you have small children or pets who might run amok near the tree. It's also worth noting that standing in an adult home is negligible and I would recommend sandbags on the base to keep the tree steady next to the tree in the presence of people lacking judgment or grace. One dowel was slightly deformed, so its care must be well thought out (no moisture, horizontal position, dowels are tied together). In the meantime we are quite satisfied with the product as it is for this money - considering alternatives. Time will tell if it will hold up as it's my only moderate concern for this purchase. I think it's worth a try as we have cats who like to eat things they shouldn't like, live Christmas trees. I made sure it was stored in a dry place in its original packaging in a horizontal position with all the dowels secured with rubber bands. This comprehensive method has prevented all the dowels from warping and we are enjoying our tree again this year. Attached photos show sandbags for stability and rubber bands for storage.
