Cable spools appear to be rare/expensive items. I had two that I bought from Costco a few years ago and the one I used the most didn't work. I bought it as a replacement hoping it would be more reliable and could handle more current. It handles more current than my old coil. I can run a table saw, miter saw and shop vacuum on it. I usually use a corded cyclone when working with saws. I'm sure it pulls a lot of amps and penalizes the cable spool. Unlike my previous reel, the cord doesn't get hot when I'm using it. The housing is made of coarse plastic, like a cool box. I would have preferred metal, but it seems to hold up well in the Texan heat. The only thing I don't like is the attachment. It's better than the last one.
