I in no way consider myself to be an avid audiophile; however, I have always appreciated good sound, and now, at long last, I have allowed myself to treat myself to more or less serious headphones. And it was undeniably money well spent. They don't have the most pretentious price tag (and I got them for $7,000 with a discount), but they look and sound even better than that. It is also important to note that this is already the level at which you can begin to hear not only the music, but also the quality of the recording, the format, and the source. Since I listen to music using the audio card that is already installed in my laptop (although I am already considering purchasing an external card), I highly doubt that I have fully revealed all of their nuances. Nevertheless, the sound is quite lush, detailed, and gorgeous. There were no frequency distortions, the bass was just the right amount, the high notes were clear (although on some compositions, they had a slight whistling quality), and the middle notes were pleasant and well-balanced. Headphones are great for listening to music of any genre, but they really shine in classic rock, progressive rock, and avant-garde rock. For instance, I fell back in love with David Bowie, and I listened to several of Marilyn Manson's albums and enjoyed them very much. However, they do a decent job cutting metal, and the sensations that come from jazz are truly magical. It is important to keep in mind that they require a brief period of warming up before producing a sound that is noticeably superior. To make things easier, I can't guarantee that everyone will be there. To begin, they are substantial; I chose them specifically for my large ears because they allow my ears to completely and comfortably sink into them. Some may feel uncomfortable. Second, getting used to velor ear pads is in some ways a matter of personal preference. Landing is not a bother, but I had to twist and move them around in order to find the most comfortable position for them. It is highly recommended that you test before you buy. They appear to be constructed well, the quality of the plastic appears to be quite good, and the assembly appears to be standard; however, the answer to the question of how reliable they are will most likely not be known until much more time has passed. In a nutshell, these are excellent headphones for the price, and I really hope they last for a very long time.
