I purchased this item primarily to control the humidity in my Florida apartment. After setting up and starting my Govee device and syncing it via Bluetooth with the Govee app on my phone, I mounted the base plate to the wall just above my thermostat. I was surprised at how sensitive it is to the temperature of my fingers. I then calibrated the hygrometer part by sealing it in an airtight ziplock bag with 1/2 cup table salt dissolved in 1/4 cup water. . After 12 hours the moisture index was 78%. Should have been 75%. So I used the app to set Govee to 75% remotely. I took it out of the bag and reattached it to the mounting plate. It took some time to get the actual humidity, which is now 52%. So far, I am very satisfied. Yes, it's expensive, but I think the build quality and components make it worth it.
