Review on πŸ”‘ Dorman 924-793 Ignition Lock Cylinder for Chrysler, Dodge, and Mitsubishi Models - OE FIX by Jason Childs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent replacement part Looks like the original and works exactly as shown in the video

This product works. I was concerned that he cut off or shaved something to adjust the glasses, but that's not the case. The cylinder must have programmable locking pins. You insert the key, and it should be the key you will be using most, twist it twice, pull it out, insert it into the cylinder and snap it back into the steering column. It is pre-lubricated with a suitable lubricant. It was almost impossible to tinker with other replacement car keys. It encodes the key very precisely, and a key that worked before probably won't work in this case. It will probably wear out. Another alternative is a manual core, which you pull out, read the pin numbers, and change the key manually. For $20 this thing literally took less than five minutes to install, but I already knew how to remove the old one and drilled a small hole in the underside of the steering column cover so I could remove it in the future without disassembly. . Good product and it works.
