This is the second HDMI to S-Video/RCA Composite Converter I've tried. I wanted something that didn't clip off the top and left of the image. The good news is that this one doesn't cut anything. But at 1080x it flickers in color bars with the message "No Signal - NTSC" and then displays the image again. My satellite box can be tuned to 720 to fix this problem, but my digital DVR tuner doesn't have that option and is flashing 1-2 times an hour with 1080p@60 signals. External power supply or not doesn't matter. I tend to watch specific channels on the air to get the full picture as my satellite provider cuts off part of the broadcast. So I need something that works well at 1080p so I can watch series without screen clipping or flickering. It's hard to watch a show with text commentary overlaid and all you see is "You're earlier in the day" or a character being shown a text message for us to read and words skipped due to interruptions will. Attempt #3.
