Review on πŸ”§ ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool - Efficient Tire Pressure Monitoring System Activation and Relearn by Kaveen Reyes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works like a champ.

I bought this to avoid having to go to the dealer to program the TPM sensors every time I upgrade to my 2017 Forester winter set of wheels/tires. Should pay for itself in two visits. I didn't play around with the CD that came with it, I went to the website (search for ATEQ Quickset) and downloaded the USB driver and the latest software. Just RTFM and everything will be fine. First, download the USB driver software, connect the device to the computer and install it. Then install the Quickset software and enter your vehicle information for vehicle 1. You will be prompted to navigate to your vehicle and download the information from the vehicle ECU. This worked as advertised so I now have a record of the TPM IDs for my set of summer tires. I will update this review later when I switch to winter tires and upload new sensor IDs. But I think it's pretty darn easy. As far as I can tell, you can use the 2016 Forester vehicle description to extract data from a 2017 Forester. I will be using the VT-30 to check and activate the winter tire IDs and TPM location before uploading the IDs with Quickset. Once two sets of wheels are mounted, you do not need to program them again for the last machine used. Simply activate it to download data to your car's ECU, plug it in with the car on and press the button for the set of tires you want to download. FYI, you will make fewer programming errors if you enter hexadecimal numbers instead of their decimal equivalents. Been there, done. Update Nov. 2016: Loading the 2017 Forester winter tires worked perfectly. No problem. Update December 2016: My wife bought a 2017 Crosstrek and I added her TPM IDs as a separate vehicle (you can have up to 4). I had no problem reading the DST TPM IDs from their car's ECU or uploading the new TPM IDs for the winter tires. The current firmware doesn't include 2017 vehicles, but the Subaru Forester and Crosstrek lineup hasn't changed since 2016, so the 2016 definitions work just fine. My only complaint is that the firmware is not updated frequently so you might run into problems if a specific model is fully updated making the ECU programming incompatible.
