Review on 🎧 Sennheiser SD Pro2 ML Double-Sided Wireless Headset: Perfect for Desk Phone & Skype for Business with Ultra Noise-Cancelling Microphone - Black by Travis Varner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent range, connection reliability and noise reduction

Addendum: It's been almost 2 years and I'm still very happy with the performance. I have a few complaints. 1) The mute button is weak and unreliable. And 2) the magnet has detached from the charging port on the headset base. The very small magnet interfered with the connection of the charging contacts. This was an easy fix after I figured out what was going on. Another thing you might want to consider is that they don't travel well. I use them all the time in my office and they're great, but it would be really cool if I could take them with me on business trips. Unfortunately, to travel with them you have to pack the huge base that you see in the picture. I wish Sennheiser had made a version of this with a USB transmitter and separate charger instead of a chunky base. Original Review - I've been using it for about a month to write a proper review. I work from home and use the softphone on my laptop quite often for both short calls and long conference calls. My previous headset was the Logitech Bluetooth model and I concluded that Bluetooth was not suitable for office use. Bluetooth connections are just plain unreliable (if I had a dollar every time I had to end a call, reconnect and then resume the call), short range, and prone to interference issues. If you want to talk to friends or just listen to music, be sure to use Bluetooth. But it just doesn't fit for business use. This headset has a USB connection between the base station and the computer and uses DECT between the base station and the headset. My laptop runs Windows 7 and getting my laptop to recognize the base wasn't a problem - it was a true plug and play experience. Every time my laptop wakes up or boots up, the headset is ready to go. No more connection problems. I use Jabber for my softphone and haven't had any issues with the headset which is nice too. So far, the DECT connection has been 100% reliable and the range has been excellent. Sound quality is just ok - I think the so-so sound quality reflects the limitations of DECT more than any headphone speaker limitations. It's fine for phone calls, but I wouldn't recommend it for music. This headset is not a stereo headset (you need Bluetooth if you want a stereo headset) contrary to what other reviews say. The microphone is of good quality and Sennheiser microphones should have very good noise reduction capabilities. According to the people on the other end of my calls, they all sound fine. For the purpose of this headset (making and receiving calls) I give 5 stars. I would rate the comfort as good, but not outstanding. The headset cushions are comfortable enough and put just enough pressure on my head to stay on without being too tight, but after about 45 minutes my ears need a rest. I have enough battery power for the whole day. If you want to listen to music as well as make phone calls, you can either buy a USB headset or a Bluetooth headset. One solution is wired while the other has issues with limited range and reliability. At the moment there is not a single wireless headset that is suitable for both making/taking calls and playing music.
