Before the steps were installed, it was very difficult for my wife to get into the cab for all the reasons you would expect from elderly people like us. The addition of steps reduced the distance she had to lift her foot by more than ten inches. Now she can do it without help, not that I don't mind helping. Installation wasn't exactly an easy task, although the process was simple. The problem was drilling the mounting holes. I don't know what steel is used in the Ford F-150, but it's definitely not just mild steel. I had to build some kind of press to get enough power to drill. It's not the profile manufacturer's fault; it's just an uncomfortable place to lie on your back and poke holes. Installed them on a 2006 F-150.
