Don't zoom. The view is not endless as it says on the box. Surprisingly good.

With no expectations whatsoever, I bought this monocular just to see how far (maybe 10 blocks/half a mile) it would be from binoculars with the same specs. This monocular was recommended to me by a reputable national magazine, which is why I bought it. The weight was heavier than expected but I found it comfortable. I've tried the monocular in daylight and in total darkness (as dark as possible with streetlights in a big city) and actually found that "night vision" is better than what can be seen during the day when sunlight pours from glittering buildings and windows is reflected. This monocular has a manual setting which I prefer and is definitely not a zoom as stated in their advert and on their packaging. Don't believe for a minute that the distance is "infinity" on this monocular as described on the packaging and instructions. Overall, this monocular is very good for the price. All that is needed to improve is a lens cap and more detailed instructions.
