Useful magnification at a great price

Great little monocular for the price. This thing gives a clear picture in the center of the picture. The edges become a little blurry. Much better than the usual cheap optics that have distortions and blurring that make the image unusable. One-time increase. The main run has a rough focus. Fine focusing is achieved by rotating the eyepiece. You can bring the fine focus back to the middle of its range by rotating the coarse focus a bit.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Great look for the price

This is a great add-on option for a quick close-up of something. I would recommend this as your main optics set if you are looking for wildlife or anything like that. Of the few things I didn't particularly like, there was one that was a lot bigger than I expected. I was hoping to put it in my pocket as a more portable alternative to binoculars or something. While I could technically put it in my pocket, it would be quite bulky. The focus is smooth and easy to use. Clarity is good at the dead…

Powerful clear viewing! High quality!

Bird watching with this, my garden is like a bird sanctuary. Even better, I can use it to look at the planet. It was very inexpensive and had better image quality than my two amateur interchangeable lens telescopes that originally cost $120-$160 (complete junk). Being a monocular, it becomes difficult to keep a steady hand during prolonged viewing. But whatever the negative reviews, I've had it for 3-4 years now. Searched previous orders to verify purchase/product information. Until I buy an…

Affordable and powerful. Would like a hard case for storage.

I bought this set to see hard to see signals from a long distance when working on the railway. During the day when the nearest signal is more than 1/2 mile away it's sometimes difficult to see the display so I take this monocular to find it. This monocular has excellent range and focus. A little shaky and hard to focus while the locomotive is running but it will be how I use it for me. When we sit still I can see everything in my field of vision very well, including reading street signs from…

Pros
  • Wide Spectrum
Cons
  • Coefficient Set

With no expectations whatsoever, I bought this monocular just to see how far (maybe 10 blocks/half a mile) it would be from binoculars with the same specs. This monocular was recommended to me by a reputable national magazine, which is why I bought it. The weight was heavier than expected but I found it comfortable. I've tried the monocular in daylight and in total darkness (as dark as possible with streetlights in a big city) and actually found that "night vision" is better than what can be…

Not as described, but still a good buy

This is not a zoom monocular. And not 16x52. The specifications in the product description say that the lens diameter is 52mm and the magnification is 16. The same description states that the exit pupil is 5.2mm. If the magnification factor were 16, the exit pupil would be 3.25 (the exit pupil is the diameter of the lens divided by the magnification factor). I roughly measured a magnification factor of 10. So I came to the conclusion that the exit pupil is actually 5.2mm. Much bigger and that…

Complete junk - not even worth €13.99

Monocular eyepiece was chipped. Now perhaps one could attribute this to shipping, but further evidence points to poor build quality. The monocular is barely attached or guided in its box. The box is full of misspellings and the instruction manual (more like a piece of paper) is even worse. The tape for the item was thrown in the box, separate from the unopened plastic bag. The monocular appears to match the listing images, but a closer look reveals small components in various places - even in…
