I should have read the product description more closely - my mistake! The top layer is leather (very nice leather) but the lining looks like a fiber product. See photo. I use shoulder straps for everyday knit bags, so I don't mind a more rustic look. Pros: The color is exactly what I wanted and the leather is easy to trim with regular sewing scissors. I lightly punched holes with a leather punch. Cons: The strap stretches a bit, which doesn't matter for carrying yarn, but if you want to carry something heavy, this isn't the best choice.
