We bought it as an emergency backpack for camping. However, once we planted it in our home, our cat adopted it as her own guard house. She either curled up on the front of the lid or stretched into it. This worked great as a 'security blanket' for her throughout our trip. I haven't used them as a carrier yet. It's easy to set up and store. Many zippers can go wrong, but all carriers do. I love the variety of design options that all these zippers offer. happy customer
