Review on πŸ”§ Efficiently Service Your Bottom Bracket with the Park Tool BBT-9 Tool by Brian Vasquez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool if your frame fits. Be careful with full suspension bikes.

Great tool, although I've found over the years that it's too big to fit certain frames and requires rotating at an angle , making it likely to tear off bb grooves . This is because they use cheaper metal (making this tool relatively cheap, so not a bad idea actually) and are therefore oversized. For example RWC GXP BB + SantaCruz Tall Tower => You'll need to remove the frame's rear triangle to fit the non-drive side, or crank it up to 50Nm (which is pretty much a guarantee of cleaning up some of the bottom bracket grooves)

Pros
  • One end of the BBT-9 hooks securely into 16 bottom bracket slots
Cons
  • Expensive
