This is the second one I installed. I used USB to serial converters and wanted to install them on two of my computers that I use for digital ham radio. Item exactly as described, full profile and low profile in box. I am using Windows 8.1. I always create a restore point before installing any hardware or software, just a thought. Install it, start your computer, go to Device Manager and you'll see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside, no problem. Insert the CD, right-click the device in Device Manager, select Update Driver, select Select from My Computer, select the CD-ROM drive e.g. B. E and let Windows install the drivers. Refresh the screen, you still see the yellow triangle, no problem, check your com ports in device manager and one of them will be installed, right click again on the yellow triangle for the device and follow the same Procedure. Refresh the screen, the yellow triangle is gone, check the com ports in device manager and you have two new serial com ports. Tried as in the instructions, did not help. I did it a second time as above and no problem, just remember to do it twice. This is how it worked in a Dell Inspiron tower in a PCI E16 port with Windows 8.1, I don't know and don't speak for other computers or operating systems. Hope this helps someone.
