I bought these to use with a wood fired pizza oven. The thermal protection is higher up to 900 degrees! I can easily reach the hot stove, straighten logs without tools, adjust cast iron plates with ease. Yes, I cook ribeye steaks at 900 degrees on cast-iron griddles, the plates are hot, the laser thermometer measured 890 degrees. Gloves give you direct protection for 5 to 8 seconds when grabbing and moving something hot. I mean full protection, you don't feel the burning temperature. Of course they start to heat up after 10 seconds! But hold on like iron. High temperatures do not cause burning.
