My husband needed an ethernet cable to connect to a phone he will be using for work from home. We have WiFi set up for every other device in the house. Luckily our house is small, but we still needed something really long to lead from our bedroom to the living room. I did a little research on Cat6 and Cat5 cables and found that Cat6 is backwards compatible with a Cat5 connection and is much faster (because it allows more throughput). So far, so good. The only thing left to do is get some of those cable clamps to run it along the wall and keep it off the center of the floor.
