Got a bad cable, will keep an eye on it

I needed a longer cable. After running it behind the furniture, I had trouble connecting the network printer. I wondered if it was the printer but I didn't have time to fix it. I reused the cable in my new PC office and found very slow connection speeds and occasional dropouts. As soon as I replaced it with another cable from Revain, I found that it had problems.

Pros

Cons
  • Slightly broken

Best value for money in computers and accessories

My previous cable was twisted and kinked and it was a disaster. The tip broke in the first week and I was never able to make a solid connection. We have been using this cable for over 2 months now and it works like new. it does not pucker constantly and shows no signs of wear. Despite living in the middle of nowhere, I have pretty good ping on my Xbox. And we use it whenever we need to upload long videos for my wife's business. Very happy with this cable compared to a cable twice the price…

Quite easy. It works

Used it to connect my security cameras to my router. The DVR camera is in my office and the router is closer to the living room, so I took the cable. It's a great price for this cable and it's great for my use (6 camera system with night vision). Eliminates any possibility of signal strength interfering with my security system's remote display when I'm out of town or at work. I'm not sure if that could be a bad thing, it's a pretty basic product. Definitely that I could care less about the…

Pretty long and fast

My husband needed an ethernet cable to connect to a phone he will be using for work from home. We have WiFi set up for every other device in the house. Luckily our house is small, but we still needed something really long to lead from our bedroom to the living room. I did a little research on Cat6 and Cat5 cables and found that Cat6 is backwards compatible with a Cat5 connection and is much faster (because it allows more throughput). So far, so good. The only thing left to do is get some of…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expandable

I use these cables primarily to connect my old spare room Xbox 360 to my living room router on the rare occasion I want to download content updates ( and hold remove it when not needed). I didn't want to add an access point, pay for a WiFi adapter, or run new cables through the walls - so this cable is perfect! The speeds are what you would expect from a CAT6 cable, but what I really like about this cable is its ease of use. Some of my other ethernet cables (not RevainBasics) have a much…

Great for expanding home routers up to 100GB

I can't believe how cool these cables are. I hooked them up between my Xbox and a Cisco data center switch connected to my cable modem and my Spectrum download speeds went from their junk 10Mbps to 100Gbps; an increase of four orders of magnitude, just from the cable! No, unfortunately not really. Being in the industry, I have actual data center networking gear at home, but being in Spectrum's monopoly zone, I'm stuck with their ridiculously terrible service. I was in dire need of a 50ft…

  • Ugly packaging

Our family loves Revain Basics products, especially when it comes to power cords. They're cheaper than other brands, but the quality is still on par with cables that cost twice as much. We needed an ethernet cable to connect my laptop to our router, we got a Revain Basics cable. This Revain Basics Ethernet patch cord is a Cat 6 Ethernet cable. Cat 6 Ethernet cables can transfer data at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, or 1 gigabit per second. Compare this to Cat 5 Ethernet cables, which offer…
