This is a full-featured modern brake controller with some complex functions, but with a simple and user-friendly interface. Unlike cheaper models, this one comes with a three-axis motion sensor accelerometer. It will get the right braking force much more accurately than simpler sensors. Curt offers a wide range of brake controls, from simpler versions to Bluetooth-enabled devices that sync to your smartphone. I personally like this one as it is easy to install and use and doesn't require any other device to work. When you purchase the correct wiring harness adapter for your car, the installation is plug and play. The design of this controller is very well done. It's a lot more compact than I thought. This allows you to discreetly mount it in different places. Nice place where you can see the screen and press the manual brake button. The plowed display makes it more versatile in placement. I find the display bright and easy to read day and night. Once installed, it only takes a few steps to get the most out of this controller. Several test drives with a trailer on a flat road at low speed with the right settings. It's really easy to make and also gives you a basic trailering experience when you first draw. Overall I was very impressed with this controller and find it a good choice for most cars, SUVs or trucks that don't already have a controller. It is powerful and can carry up to a 4 axle trailer. This is more than twice the price of the cheapest versions, but less than twice the price of the most expensive versions. I think it's in a good price range. The cheapest is not always the best choice when it comes to braking and towing safety. This controller gets 5 stars from me. Better than expected.
