In a word, yes. I lived in a house with doorknobs for decades and then bought a house with doorknobs. I found the doorknobs very functional and nothing more. On the other hand, I consider door handles to be functional luxury in comparison. All of the door handles in our home have been replaced with Kwikset door handles. If you have never lived with doorknobs, once installed you will find that doorknobs are quickly becoming a functional necessity rather than a luxury. Why? Because of the ease of opening the door in the presence of a full armful of goodies. This, of course, compares to the difficulty of operating a doorknob while having the same goodies mentioned above. :) An important note: There are three types of door hardware; ANSI Grade 3, ANSI Grade 2 and ANSI Grade 1. The benefit of going from Grade 3 to Grade 2 is a "veryβ noticeable difference in both appearance and build quality. It makes no sense to me to go 1st class unless you work in a hospital where orderlies routinely bang on doorknobs with a food truck. The difference in look/feel between Grade 3 and Grade 2 is that a Grade 2 product feels rock solid, well made and feels good compared to a Grade 3 product with a slightly fluffy look/feel. So if you're looking for a replacement or an upgrade, regardless of your product choice, I recommend spending a few dollars more on Class 2 products if possible. That way, you'll be rewarded with personal joy and satisfaction (pride) on a daily basis and Using Class 2 door handles. FWIW replacing the Kwikset with the Kwikset, replacing the old hardware and inserting the new door handles into the existing cut outs is very simple. All you need is a medium Phillips screwdriver and ten minutes of your time. After installation you will find that these door handles have a very solid look combined with a silky smooth feel; very nice. Note to the wise, this is a brushed nickel piece and your out of sight / out of mind door hinges can be made from brass. Maybe I don't go out often enough, but in case you missed it, I love those doorknobs. I'm sure there are many other brands and models of equal or better quality; read, which means more expensive. But if you are curious about this particular brand and model of door handles, you will not be disappointed if you decide to buy them. Hope the above is helpful. :)
