Review on ๐ŸŽฏ Ataraxia Precision Filament with Resealable Dimensional Accuracy by Kelly Noonan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely a good buy

Very happy with this filament for the price. I was skeptical at first as all the reviews were glowing and all were posted within a short period of time but decided to give it a try as even a crappy filament has its place. I had nothing to fear! The print on the image was done on the Prusa Mini almost immediately after opening the roll, no pull tests, temperature towers or other calibrations other than the Live Z test to ensure proper initial coating. It came out a little stringy, but then again, it was totally out of size. The color is beautiful and matches the advertised pantone color perfectly. The bed adhesion (PEI) was really strong and I didn't notice any warping or similar issues. The glitter on the print is very pretty, not quite silky, but very appealing to the figure model. I think I might try to print the vase later to see how it works, but for now I'm very happy with what I see. The coil is fantastic. Not very neat but maybe not possible at this price point and I really don't see it as a problem as at least it was wrapped tightly with no visible tangles or crosses. What really stands out is the clear indication of the amount of filament remaining and some very useful information including the weight of the spool itself. You can tell it was made by people who actually have experience with 3D printing and know what is actually useful, and not by someone who doesn't know much and just sees it as a potential money-making venture. I haven't tried the vacuum bag as I already keep all my open rolls in an airtight storage container with plenty of desiccant, but it definitely feels better. A bit shocked that it is included in the roll which is $20 with taxes. I printed with nozzle 210, layer 60 and layer height 0.1. Zero issues except for the string, but again no string pre-sizing tests were done. The tension was gone after I fired my heat gun. Doctor: It's worth it! I'll do some calibrations to see if I can set it up and after that I'll probably order a few more rolls!
