Fabricated a new pump station cover (cinder blocks) and installed them to the blocks with J-bolts inserted into the concrete through the holes in the block. Did the top separately so I can access the pump and hydraulic tank. Now it's a 4x4 foot square. And I never thought a 4x4 foot cover would be so damn heavy. With the roof tiles and the wood, it took both hands to open this thing. I installed extra heavy 4" hinges. But when trying to lift, I needed as much muscle as I had. Also, I had to open the heavy lid to work inside the case, which seemed to be a safety issue. As well always i figured this cap was supposed to weigh 250lbs a bit and that was a guess so i figured with that weight and some extra weight to keep the lid closed when the wind blows 2 100# "Racks would try. Got them today, installed in 10 minutes and now the lid pops open with a lot less effort and stays open. Still planning on propping them up with a brace for security when I'm inside. And the lid closes without flapping down but still has enough weight to prevent the wind from opening the lid unintentionally I give them 2 thumbs up.
