I was pleasantly surprised by this hole saw. It's heavy, thick and durable. It cuts an actual 6" diameter hole. When I ordered it I wasn't aware of the size of the shank. This works in my drill chuck but not in my hand drill. I was on a tight deadline so I, rather than sending it back, used a 7/16" wrench with my hand drill. Not a perfect setup, but it worked great. Cut nice, smooth holes in 3/4" birch plywood without cracking or burning through. The cut piece fell out without having to pry it open, but there are 6 holes to pull it out if I needed to. My only suggestion is to make sure your drill will fit the 7/16" bit before you buy.
