True 6 " industrial quality

I was pleasantly surprised by this hole saw. It's heavy, thick and durable. It cuts an actual 6" diameter hole. When I ordered it I wasn't aware of the size of the shank. This works in my drill chuck but not in my hand drill. I was on a tight deadline so I, rather than sending it back, used a 7/16" wrench with my hand drill. Not a perfect setup, but it worked great. Cut nice, smooth holes in 3/4" birch plywood without cracking or burning through. The cut piece fell out without having to pry it…

Doesn't matter! for power tools and hand tools

I bought this hole saw about an hour after comparing reviews, features and price. This seemed like the best all round choice and I can say it worked. I cut standard 5" holes in MDF and plywood with an old hole saw that I've had for about a year and I will say that I bought the entire set of saws for about what I paid for this new hole saw . Not suitable for Hardi Board or other cementitious boards.

I needed a crown to fit a vent hole through the outside wall for the stove hood. When this 6 inch beast arrived I was impressed with its depth and strength as well as the shaft design. In action, it quickly cuts through drywall and OSB. However, when I encountered cementitious hardiplank, the cutting slowed to a minimum and deteriorated when attempting to cut two partially overlapping boards.
