First of all I'm 70 years old and I did this in my garage when it was about 100 degrees outside. This took more than two days, mainly due to errors in the instructions. I found the installation video very helpful in many ways. However, there were a few errors or unclear instructions. This was causing me the problems I was having and was delaying the install. I used to be pretty good at things like that. That's why I took on the project. My wife thinks I should have paid for the installation. Find out. The instructions state that it is imperative to install the top panel using slot A for the driver's side and slot B for the passenger's side. They showed an arrow for clarity, but they should have shown 2 arrows since there were actually 2 A slots and 2 B slots. That would have helped. The instructions say to install a 5/16 bold font into the small hole on the driver's side, but the video showed it was installed on both sides. As a result, a bolt was used on the passenger side that was no longer available. And the bolt, if I hadn't removed it by disassembling it, would have made a continuous rumble. On my 2004 2500 GMC Duramax, the brake line is mounted next to the strike plate on the driver's side, making it immobile so the equipment didn't have to immobilize it. The instructions also said that the bracket, bolt and nut should be removed from the top of the axle. Luckily my truck didn't have this bracket to cut off. However, the bottom bracket could not sit flat on the driver's side platform due to a rib welded to the top of the axle. To solve this I had to cut a 1 1/8" x 1 1/4" rectangle from the rear inside corner of the bottom bracket to install the bottom bracket on the striker plate (platform) so that it was flat and vertical this is where the airbag sits (if it doesn't lie flat on the platform it would damage the airbag). Because of these sketchy instructions, and the differences between the videos and written instructions, and because GMC worked slightly differently for 2004 (and possibly other years), I had to assemble and disassemble airbag assemblies multiple times. I'm glad it's over, but I can't comment on the quality of the airbags. I finished today and did my checks but won't be lugging in a few weeks. Let's see how the airbags behave. Much luck. I hope you avoid the problems I had.
