This vacuum is short enough to fit under most of my furniture. It's hard for him to get off the rug under my couch because the rug ends right in front of the couch and when he tries to go right under the couch the front goes down and the back goes up and that's just about enough tucked in to catch him. . When I first ran it in my living room I noticed that the protective vinyl on top was quite scratched which tells me the powertrain performance is really good. Haven't figured out how to "drive" it with the remote yet, but the smart cleaning seems to work quite well. I wish he wouldn't forget the room when he finished cleaning, but he usually gets everything acceptable anyway. The suction part is actually quiet enough that my cats don't mind. My deaf cat thinks she has a new toy. I don't know how to tell an idiot that this is MY toy and not his. Anyway I am very happy with this purchase and it helps to get rid of hairballs and dustballs. :)
