Half a jar of this stuff goes in EVERY LOAD of my laundry. (Old washing machine too!) I add it before loading laundry as soon as the water starts to cover the bottom. I stir it with a small piece of PVC pipe so it mixes with the water without clumping) and then add the detergent and finally the load. I also always do a second rinse just to better rinse/clean the soap off my tissues. I'm often surrounded by cigarette smoke and my clothes reek of it at the end of the day. BORAX removes 100% of the odor because it actually removes the stinky nicotine residue! It has never faded on my dark/light colors and has no odor so it doesn't overpower the smell of fabric softener. Accumulation of the product occurs. much gentler than brushing and is incredibly fast. I also used it to remove oil stains from my driveway, AND one day I dusted up and down the sides of my driveway where concrete meets grass (ANT COLONISATION, BIG CARPENTERS) and he single-handedly wiped them away FOREVER. Incidentally, the grass has proven itself very well, it does no harm. You can do countless things with this material. Magical must have!
