I bought it for testing last summer. They're pretty easy to use. When adding water, make sure there is enough air at the top to expand. I used a small funnel, although with a liquid measuring cup you may not need it. The ice overflowed and froze on the outside of the spheres when water was added to the gauge line on the shapes so I had to add less than specified. When the balls were ready to freeze, I placed them in a small square plastic container and set them on a flat surface so they wouldn't tip over or spill. The ice cream made in it looks like crystal balls and is very beautiful. Ice balls made with these molds will last longer than regular ice cubes. They are designed to dilute your drinks less than the entire surface of many ice cubes. I drink diluted juices and not hard liquor, so I can't comment on that. The mold has held up well so far, except when a squirrel came into our house and decided to eat one.
