Using it for a hoop house, feel it's overpriced

This tape does appear to be super strong. I'm using it to attach poly panels along the bottom of a garden hoop house. We had a sunroom collapse this past winter and were able to salvage enough of the poly windows to use around the bottom of a new pvc hoophouse. With no frame for the windows, I needed a way to keep the sides of each window panel attached to each other. I decided to give this a try. It's been rained on, plus gotten wet from the sprinkler, but so far, it's holding up and hasn't come loose. It was easy to apply and I was able to pull it up and reposition it a couple of times. It feels like your basic all weather clear poly repair tape you find in the winter months. I knocked down one star because of the price though. You really don't get very much on a roll and it's rather costly for what you do get (only 27 feet). In comparison, the all weather repair tape (duck brand) cost $9.92 for 108 feet on Ebay. That's about .09 a foot compared to the Gorilla tape, which is about .26 a foot. I have a couple of rolls left to use, but if I run out of the Gorilla brand, I'll be using the Duck brand to complete the job, only because of the price.UPDATE: Some of this tape lifted after heavy rains. I removed it and replaced it with clear duck tape, which has held up through a couple of thunderstorms as well as some really humid/muggy weather. The gorilla tape seems very overpriced for what it is.

Pros
  • Crystal Clear Gorilla Duct Tape is a heavy-duty, all-purpose tape that is weatherproof, air tight, crystal clear, and can be torn by hand
Cons
  • May not bond well to rough or textured surfaces
