Only buy this product if you are frustrated for hours and waste a lot of your precious time and energy. The best I can tell is why the seller keeps mentioning not to put it next to anything with magnetic fields. Using a magnetic sensor, it signals to the computer to which it is connected whether a door is open or closed. Regardless of whether it is close to a magnetic field or not, this sensor will not work properly. My Mac shows the drive is connected but thinks the door is open due to this unwanted sensor. Worse, if you somehow manage to get it to work, the device's vibration is enough to disrupt the sensor and trick the computer into thinking you've ejected the disc. I have about 10 disc copies that I have been trying to copy for almost two days and they are all about 3/4 copies of a single disc done. If the seller didn't want it near magnetic fields maybe they should have checked the attached USB cable which you are forced to use over 6 inches as a lot of RF fields fly around computers because they are computers. gave me the confidence to buy this device but don't make the same mistake I did and trust them. This article sucks.
