Review on πŸ”§ Whiteside Router Bits 3347 - 3/4" Diameter by Colin Arcos

Works with plywood using a lift cut

This is an excellent cutter and works exactly as I imagined, but using plywood took some learning. The reviewer said it doesn't work with Baltic birch. , but this is wrong. This works with a flawless cut, but you have to do some unconventional things. This is only for the sides (the piece that will stand upright on the router table) - the front/back (face down on the router table) was the perfect cut. I am posting my instructions for 1/2 Baltic birch plywood (I think it will work for other plywood as well) one. Adjust the height to 5/16 (this will be a small tab for the pieces, but it will be fine after gluing. Needs fine tuning if making test patterns. 3. Tape the cut out piece - this helped ***WARNING* ** - this next step can be very dangerous (some people say never try a router table - I did it anyway) the block will push hard against the fence and the thing will pull itself off the table want to throw so you need to hold it and be very still while doing it It also throws out a lot of sawdust 5. After you've done all your lifting cuts make a traditional cut and it will complete the cut This is a perfect finish though there may be some movement on the piece taking away some of the cut outs but cutting on quality is not affected by this it does not roll and is very good I have made 60 cuts this way and only one Piece came off (no tape as an experiment). Failure to hoist cut, even with tape, will split the sides of the plywood and render it unusable. Climbing cut provides a perfect finish so I'm giving the bit 5 stars for the specific application and I'm sure it will work with regular wood as others have pointed out.
