Pro - lets the garage door go down again Con - just small - the screw holes in the new brackets don't match the old ones so you have to drill pilot hole for each bracket InstallDetails: My Garage door would not have lowered if I had not held down the wall switch until the door was fully closed. Virtually none of the gauges had indicators, and sometimes a red light would flash, indicating one of the many problems. After fiddling around with the old sensors and checking the voltage on each to make sure the motor assembly and wiring wasn't bad (they measure 24VAC btw), I ordered a replacement. Installation would have been incredibly quick, except the holes on the new brackets didn't line up with the old ones, so I had to drill a pilot hole for a new location for each bracket installation. Please note that polarity does not matter when connecting to sensors, i.e. both striped and regular wires can be connected to any terminal. I decided to replace the red light sensor with a new red and the same with green, but I believe you can swap places if the occasional sun is interfering with your closures. There is no new wiring in the package. I replaced the old square blocks with a Genie Pro screw drive that was over 20 years old. Much luck.
