There is some confusion as to the correct use and signal routing of similar adapters. This is the right adapter to switch from a 15-pin VGA video source to an HDMI display, e.g. B. to connect an older laptop to a newer LCD TV/monitor. Other similar adapters may go in the opposite direction. This particular set comes with a USB power cable for proper signal amplification, as well as a shielded patch cord to transfer the audio signal from the output jack to the HDMI jack. Then connect the HDMI connector to the adapter. Once hooked up properly, it works great sending my laptop's high-resolution signal to my 1080p monitor with audio. It works great in providing a crisp signal! The only downside is making sure everything is connected properly, and if your video source (like my laptop) doesn't allow the VGA connector to be screwed in, it will fall out without too much trouble. To make this practical, once connected to my laptop, the adapter needs to remain stationary. Otherwise, it's the perfect solution for getting my computer's media onto the big screen. I highly recommend this adapter.
